Highlight of Current Projects

The Statewide Fieldwork Initiative

Across the state, folklorists, ethnographers, interns, and community members are carrying out research to learn more about the traditions and welcome the folk artists of new communities.

The goal of the project is to broaden understanding of the rich diversity of cultures in the state and to increase support for and participation of those communities in statewide cultural activities.

If you are interested in working with one of the folklife centers as an intern or community representative for this project, contact your regional folklife center or the Folk Arts Program at the NJSCA.

The Statewide Fieldwork Initiative is a collaborative project of the New Jersey Folklife Partners, funded by the National Endowment on the Arts and the New Jersey State Council on the Arts.
